Wake Up!: Snowman Pancakes

It’s the most wonderful time of the year!! This time of year is my favorite and I love spending it with family and friends.

This weekend, I got to spend a little bit of time with my sister and two youngest nieces.  So, like any good aunt (and sister…and house guest) I made breakfast!!  And not just any breakfast, one that is in keeping with the holiday season.  I would say it’s in keeping with the frosty chill in the air, but it’s still toasty in Texas.

Thumpety, thump, thump. Thumpety, thump, thump. Look at Frosty goooooo…..
Thumpety, thump, thump. Thumpety, thump, thump. Over the fields of syrup!!  (Oh wait, that’s not right…..)

Snowman Pancakes

Enter, snowman pancakes!  Complete with powdered sugar snow. 🙂  So how do you re-create  these snowman pancakes at home?  Simple!  Drop about 3 Tbsp of your favorite pancake batter onto a preheated, medium-high heat griddle.  Then, drop another 1-2 Tbsp just above the larger circle in the pan to create the body.  Be sure to pour this new circle close enough to connect to the original circular pancake. Finally, drop a little more batter above the middle layer, carefully connecting it to the rest of the snowman.

Wait until small bubbles begin to form around the edges of the snowman, then flip. Serve with mini chocolate chips for eyes, mouth, and buttons.

Go crazy with your creativity here!! I’ve seen snowman pancakes with a slice of bacon for the scarf (we didn’t have bacon) or perhaps draw arms on the snowman with a drizzle of chocolate (my nieces didn’t have the patience to wait for that!).

More holiday recipes to come so stay tuned!!
